Springing on the Creative Work

This week I will be focusing on some needed rest as well as revisiting work.

Multimedia

  • I’ll be editing at least two podcasts for Gameways.
  • I’m starting to catch up on actual plays of games such as Stars in the Dark and more from OHGC and related. I’m especially looking forward to the ones for Unincorporated.

Playtesting

I’ll be playtesting Dark Well this week and possibly one to two more sessions for season two, as well as preparing it to run at Forge Midwest for at least a couple sessions.
It seems as though the Conspiramap is working. Now I need to write up the instructions and examples for other people.

Review, Write, Revise

I have an extensive backlog of content to consider and develop beyond notes. I imagine some of these will make an appearance here as time permits.
Here are a few on the list:
  • Other System: Dark Well – this is shaping up well, and I’ll continue to test while revising the text and providing examples.
  • Belonging Outside Belonging + PbtA: Legends of the Realm – review what I have so far, playtest in April, and see what additional changes are needed.
  • Firebrands: Flames of the Rebellion – playtest in May and see how it shakes out.
  • Powered by the Apocalypse: Apocalypse World: Burned Over, Starfall Hard Zone – review what I have so far, see what Vincent Baker is up to with the system, and go from there.
  • Paragon: Eye of the Magi – review what I have and playtest this summer.
  • Primed by Cortex: Aethernity, Found, Space Station Omega, and more – I am waiting to see what the commercial license may be; I have plenty to review as time allows.
  • Descended from the Queen: Time & Tempus, For the Con – I am putting these on hold for now.
  • Psi*Run: NightMirror – I have ideas for returning to this when there is time.
  • Dresden Files Accelerated: Armageddon Accelerated (Fate Accelerated) / Armageddon Overdrive (FitD) – if I have time, I plan to release both, but that is a lot to consider.
  • Other System: Along the Road – I need some mental space before I can return to this
  • Other System: Vigilance – I need help with math for the mechanics before I can finish this.

Business Matters

It’s been a number of months since I’ve really done anything for AquaVertigo through social media, so I’m planning to carve out time to be more intentional with this.

Running Games

After I have a better sense of what I will be focusing on, I plan to post and run one-shots of games, including from other designers through various communities.

Next Steps

Structure and then do the work.
